I've just recently read a compilation of tweets from Japan about the recent disaster.
What I read made me realize that people (the human race) don't thrive [other adjective here] during prosperous times. Some of our greatest capabilities are being able to stand out, rising to greatness, and being reliable when we're faced with great challenges.
